Presented in a joint premiere at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano and at the 62nd edition of the Nuova Consonanza Festival in Rome, MASS! is a durational performance by Francesco Leineri for choir, visuals, and electronics, in which the traditional form of the Mass embraces the secular nature of the ordinary and the near future: the disintegration of community, the transience of the body in the digital world, and the disappearance of the planet.

A choir of non-professional voices, meeting for the first time only on the day of the event, will animate the theatre as a non-place, without interruption, after having actively contributed to the dramaturgy as well—online and in complete anonymity—through the platform massopencall.com.
