Ragnar Kjartansson’s THE SKY IN A ROOM

Concept: This project by the Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson involves musicians taking turns to perform an ethereal arrangement of ‘Il Cielo in una Stanza’, the famous love song by Gino Paoli, originally released in 1960. Accompanied by the church organ, the piece will be like a never-ending rosary of love and spatial transformation. As one of the most important experiences that renewed him as a musician and composer, Francesco Leineri participated as a singer and organist in the performance from 2020 to 2022, in productions curated by Fondazione Nicola Trussardi in Milan and by Ikon Gallery/Artes Mundi in Birmingham.
