BURQARIUM

Concept: This installation, part of the broader exhibition "The grand social and scientific exhibition" by Lorenzo Montanini, consists of a cart containing two glass "cases" facing each other. In the first case, there is a woman wearing a burqa (or niqab). In the opposite case, there is a naked woman. A slow and circular movement, repeated constantly, will reverse their roles: the one who was wearing the full veil will be left with nothing, while the one who was naked will be covered with the veil. Francesco Leineri curated the musical composition and sound design of the installation.
